Our Curriculum
Effective Child-Initiated Learning
Kids Care Academy supports teachers, children, and families by implementing a curriculum that translates child development theory and research into best practice, clearly defining the teacher’s vital role in connecting content, teaching, and learning for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Our curriculum is based on several theorists’ research and developmentally appropriate practice that balances teacher-planned and child-initiated learning, emphasizing responsiveness to children’s strengths, interests, needs, and learning styles.
Learning Through Exploration
Toddler and preschool teachers work with the children in the following domains: literacy, language development, English language development, math, logical reasoning, science, social studies, problem-solving, creative art & music, gross motor, and social-emotional development.
Each toddler and preschool class has several learning areas or centers: blocks, dramatic play, toys & games, art, library, discovery/science, sand & water, music & movement, and outdoors.
More About Our Curriculum
The chart in the PDF below outlines the lesson plan themes that are planned typically bi-weekly and include specific letters, numbers, colors, and shapes for focus in conjunction with our themes. Copies of your child’s lesson plan are posted in his/her classroom if you would like to view the activities that your child will be doing.
If you have any further questions about the curriculum we use at Kids Care Academy and how it is implemented in our centers, seek answers from management.
